How to add text to a PDF offline
Add a date, a label or a short note to a PDF without uploading it. PDF Plus places new text on top of the page and embeds it in your downloaded document.

Open the PDF text toolUnderstand what the text tool does
This workflow adds new text boxes. It does not change the words already inside a PDF, recognise scanned text, or create interactive form fields.
Do not use a text box to hide sensitive information. Original content under an overlay can still be recovered. Use a tool that performs actual redaction when you need to remove content securely.
Open a page and place text
Choose a PDF on the text tool page or try the locally generated sample. The first page opens in preview with text mode enabled. Click the page where your text should appear.
For another page, close the preview and double-click its thumbnail. You can use the Add Text control in preview to switch text mode on or off.
Adjust the appearance
Use the text toolbar to choose the font, size and colour. Bold and italic styles are available. Drag a text box to change its position.
Review the page at a readable zoom level. Keep labels inside the page boundary and avoid covering content that the reader needs.
Save and verify the output
Close the preview and choose Download PDF. PDF Plus embeds the added text into a new PDF. It does not overwrite the source file.
Open the downloaded PDF in a reader and check the text and placement. Keep your original document if you will need a version without the added text. Your editing session is not saved after refreshing or closing the tab.
Continue without a connection
Load the editor before you disconnect. You can try the full workflow on sample pages first, then disconnect and add text and download from the same open tab.
Some characters or unusual documents may not render as expected. Always review the downloaded result, especially when using text outside the supported font character set.
