How to extract selected pages from a PDF
Extracting pages creates a smaller PDF containing just the pages you choose. It is useful when you need to share one section of a report while keeping the full original.

Open the private PDF splitterOpen the PDF and find the right pages
Choose a PDF on the split tool page, or use Try sample files to practise with a fictional three-page document. Your chosen file is read on your device.
Check the page thumbnails. Double-click a page to read it in preview, then close the preview to return to the selection grid.
Select a range or separate pages
Click the first page you want, then hold Shift and click the last page to select a range. For pages that are not next to each other, use Ctrl+click on Windows or Cmd+click on Mac.
On a touch device, use the page selection controls. Check the selected count before extracting. The primary extraction button stays disabled until at least one page is selected.
Save the extracted pages
Choose Extract selected pages. The selected pages are saved as a new PDF in their current workspace order. The original PDF on your disk is not changed.
In the workspace, extracted pages move into Deleted Pages. Restore them there if you need another extraction from the same pages. Download and check each output before closing the tab.
Choose PDF or images for the right result
Use PDF extraction when you want the original page content, including selectable text where available. Use PDF to PNG when you need images of the pages instead.
Extracting pages is not text extraction or OCR. A scanned page remains a scan. To remove a small piece of sensitive information, use a dedicated redaction tool rather than covering it with new text.
Work locally and handle larger files
Load the editor before disconnecting and keep the tab open to continue offline. If a large document cannot be processed, try a smaller file or a device with more free memory.
Your changes exist in this browser workspace until you download them. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the workspace, so save the files you need first.
